Dollywood Flash Flooding Leaves One Injured
At Least One Person Injured After Park Hit by Torrential Rain
At least one person was injured after Dollywood was hit by torrential rain on Tuesday, causing flash flooding that led to the park's closure.
The Pigeon Forge Fire Department said that the injured person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The flooding began around 5 p.m. ET, and Dollywood officials said that the park was closed for the rest of the day.
"We are assessing the damage and working to clean up the park," Dollywood spokesperson Wes Ramey said in a statement. "We will provide updates as they become available."
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Sevier County, where Dollywood is located, on Tuesday evening.
The warning was in effect until 9:45 p.m. ET.
